Mold can be a very complicated issue when it comes to your insurance claim.  In order for you to collect for mold damage, certain criteria must be met.

• The existence of mold must be proven through testing
• The cause of mold must be the result of a covered peril
• Your inaction must not cause or contribute to its presence.
• Mold, as a single cause of loss, must not be excluded in your policy
• An effort to prevent mold must have been made
• A plan to eradicate it should be in place
