Anthony has three passions. The first is his family. He is the proud father of Anthony, Casey Rose, Matthew Charles, Kelly Shea, and Riley Grace. He strives to not only provide for his family, but to be a great father.
Anthony’s second passion is his clients. He deeply cares about his clients, and puts himself into their shoes. This caring motivates him to go the extra mile to ensure that justice is done in every case.
Third, Anthony has a passion for making a difference in our community. Just getting money for those already injured is not enough. Anthony has dedicated himself and his law firm to preventing accidents and making our community safer, along with giving back to the community financially and with volunteer time.
Anthony’s passion is coupled with extraordinary legal talent. Anthony’s commitment to excellence has been his trademark since the beginning of his career. As a law student he had the honor of clerking for the Honorable Reena Raggi of the Eastern District of NY, and the privilege of working as Professor Aaron Twerski’s research assistant, helping with one of his many books “Products Liability and the Reasonably Safe Product”. Professor Aaron Twerski presently writes the Restatement of Products Liability along with Professor Jim Henderson.
Additionally, Anthony worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meager, & Flom, one of the nation’s largest law firms as a Summer Associate. After graduating with high honors from the prestigious Brooklyn Law School, Anthony knew he wanted to work in the Court room as a Trial Lawyer.
Anthony is the founding member of The Donofrio Law Firm, PLLC. After graduating from law school, he joined the plaintiff’s firm of Raiskin, Weiser, and Raiskin located in downtown Manhattan. He quickly distinguished himself as a superior trial lawyer and negotiator and was named a partner after five years with the firm, working as Raiskin, Weiser & Donofrio.
Having lifelong ties to Long Island, Mr. Donofrio then began his own practice in partnership with an old high school friend, Michael Cincotta. Cincotta and Donofrio represented severely injured individuals. Anthony’s practice involves representing seriously injured person in the following types of cases:
Mr. Donofrio’s reputation as a decisive and impressive lawyer in the courtroom had resulted in numerous significant recoveries for his clients. Among Mr. Donofrio’s many notable recoveries for his clientele include verdicts of $3,766,000.00 in Nassau County, $1,529,000.00 in Kings County, $1,520,000.00 in New York County, and $957,000 in Queens County. In addition, Mr. Donofrio is proud to represent many clients in complex personal injury and wrongful death litigation involving catastrophic injuries.
Mr. Donofrio’s philosophy on best representing his clients is to put the time and money necessary into the full preparation of a case. This is done while at the same time avoiding unnecessary expenses. He has found that we can achieve the best settlements for our clients by not trying to work with the insurance company on a claims basis. Rather, he will file your case into suit and press it on for trial. The best settlement arises when your case is coming up for trial and it has been fully prepared. The insurance company or defendant can then see that you have the proof necessary to win.
Mr. Donofrio will not hesitate about going to trial, if that is what you want, and if doing so is likely to create a better result for you than any settlement which is offered. On the other hand, Mr. Donofrio will not try a case that should be settled just to add to his reputation, since that practice risks the client losing.
Mr. Donofrio is admitted to practice before all of the Courts of the State of New York and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York. He has argued successfully before the Second Circuit. He has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States since 1996. Mr. Donofrio serves as Chief counsel to Terra Primus a Think Tank and a non-profit based on Earth first philosophies. Mr. Donofrio has represented, pro bono, a number of victims of the World Trade Center disaster, victims families. He is actively involved in his Community as Coach of Football and Baseball and also as a board member.
Mr. Donofrio is active in the legal community on both the State and national level. Mr Donofrio is an active alumni of the Trial Lawyers College, and a Sustaining Member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
